Dufour 63 Exclusive tends to be the flagship of Dufour monohull range not only due to her size, but also the level of comfort and innovative sailing concept.
She is based on with a high-tech full-composite hull, deck and structures where the sandwich bulkheads are completely laminated to the hull and to the deck. This concept ensures an outstanding rigidity along with a notable weight loss, resulting in high sailing performances without a decrease of the safety level. Such hi-tech hull also ensures increased motoring cruising speed up to 11 knots, using the 180 HP Volvo Penta as standard, or optional 230 HP engine.
The rigging of Dufour 63 Exclusive can vary from in-mast furling system and V-boom to sporty carbon mast and performance full battened sails. The main goal of the designer team when constructing this impressive vessel, was to incorporate stunning yacht lines with outstanding sailing capabilities. The Felci Yacht Design team that has been closely collaborating with Dufour for more than a decade has reached the optimum ratio between hull form stability and overall drag. Their research resulted in considerable stability which is more than welcome for offshore cruises, while low resistance provides fine performances under sail with light winds and when motoring.
The first look at the Dufour 63 Exclusive provides the viewer the sense of elegance and high class. Her lines are quite simple and minimalistic, yet elegant, modern or avant-garde. One of the attractive cockpit space solutions is the use of a carbon roll bar. Not only it allows exceptional spaciousness in the cockpit, but also gives the high-performance appearance of the entire yacht.
Low and rather short roof gives the sense of speed and reminds the viewer on high speed vessels, but in fact it allows a generous sleek upper deck as a huge playground for all sunbathing fans. Of course, all the hatches are lowered to the teak level making the sunbathing area more elegant, functional and safe.
The best comes at the end – the upper deck is equipped with two long-chairs, one at each side, integrated in the teak. I am sure that this innovative feature will make a great difference when choosing the yacht for your next holidays, especially when it comes to ladies.
Speaking of innovative comfort solutions, we must not forget the cockpit area concept. It is obvious at first sight that the designers succeeded in their goal to provide the highest level of comfort combined with simple and easy handling from the helm station. The sitting area is designed as an exterior saloon offering two cozy settees and tables at each side of the cockpit, leaving the central corridor to access the gangway and saloon.
The highlight of the cockpit layout is the convertible double bed and aft table. It is positioned in the central aft position, between two steering wheels. As mentioned, the bed converts very easily into a second independent cockpit table. Do not worry – the Felci Yacht Design did not forget about one of the most desirable cockpit features lately. The recognizable Dufour aft barbecue is positioned right under the mentioned convertible bed. It is supposed to be operated standing on the wide swimming platform while the tender garage lies down under the aft deck.
Speaking of the helm station, it is designed in order to provide full control over the electric winches, engine control, bow and stern thrusters, anchor winch, underwater lights and large display.
As a true semi-custom yacht, Dufour 63 Exclusive is available in various interior layouts, all made in high quality materials and a variety of colors. The mutual feature for all interior layouts is the huge window panel overhead, bringing natural light into the saloon. The interior layouts range between aft owner suite and front owner suite and between two cabins and three heads, and four cabins and four heads, with an option with or without Pullman. The skipper’s cabin is positioned in the bow.
The overall length of Dufour 63 Exclusive amounts to 19.20 m while the maximum beam is 5.50 m. Sail area spreads over 202 m2 in total upwind or 368 m2 downwind. It is divided between a 108 m2 mainsail, a 94 m2 108% jib and 260 m2 gennaker. The fresh water tanks’ capacity is 780 L while the engine tank loads as much as 870 L of diesel.
This impressive yacht not only takes a breath for its elegant and glamorous lines, but also the highest level of comfort. Sailing Dufour 63 Exclusive provides lots of fun too.
I wish you calm seas, fair winds and a strong mast!
